A woman has revealed how her cousin’s fiance sexually abused her when she was just 12, a week before their wedding, and paid her £20 to keep quiet.
Imogen Magee, now 21, told how Daniel Broadmore, now 36, plied her with alcohol and sexually assaulted her before forcing her to watch pornography and blackmailing her.
She is now bravely waiving her right to anonymity to encourage other survivors of sexual abuse to speak out and report their attackers to the police, but admits it took her “years to find the courage to report it.”
Her attacker was sentenced last month to five and a half years in prison for multiple sexual offenses against Imogen, and she now feels “relieved”.
“I want others to know that no matter how much time has passed, they too can get justice,” added Imogen, who is now a model.

Growing up, Imogen, from North Yorkshire, often spent time at her cousin’s house during the summer holidays, Halloween celebrations and New Year’s Eve.
Her cousin’s then-fiancé, Broadmore, bought her gifts, took her out and seemed to be a family man.
The day after her 12th birthday, in August 2014, Imogen visited her cousin’s house, where He played in the paddling pool in the garden.
But hours later, she and Broadmore were left alone because her cousin and aunt went to bingo.
He joined her in the pool and gave her a glass of blue WKD, which she thought was a bubblegum-flavored drink.
Imogen revealed she “got drunk” because Broadmore kept refilling her drink for an hour.
“Then Daniel suggested we play truth or dare,” she recalled.
‘I said “dare” and he replied: “I dare you to show me your chest.”

“I was confused, but quickly pulled up my bikini top and sat back down. Then he asked me to do it again.
When she refused, Broadmore became angry and demanded she do it again, which she did. He then showed Imogen her penis.
“I was surprised and uncomfortable,” she said.
Broadmore then asked Imogen to shower with him and undress. She reluctantly followed him upstairs, where he proceeded to “wash” her and touch her inappropriately.
When she came out and changed, Broadmore was still naked and sprawled on the couch.
He asked her to sit next to him and proceeded to put pornography on the television.
“He started masturbating,” Imogen revealed. She then offered me 20 pounds to look at him and then touch him and please him.
The young woman “felt disgusting and terrified,” but then, Broadmore warned him that he would get in trouble if he told anyone what he had done.

Just a few days later, she returned there to help prepare for the wedding and was once again left alone with Broadmore when her cousin showed up.
‘Daniel said he had bought a wedding gift for my cousin. “It was a set of underwear that he had left on the bed,” she revealed.
‘He asked me to come and try it on. Reluctantly, I entered the bedroom and closed the door, before putting on my bra.
“When I heard him try to enter the bedroom, I got scared and blocked the door with a dresser.”
Eventually, Broadmore gave up and left and Imogen’s cousin returned shortly after. At the wedding the following week, Imogen avoided him all day.
Imogen (pictured, 21) said Daniel ‘stole her childhood’ and made her think she would ‘never be believed’.
“Every time I went to the bathroom he was hanging around and winking at me,” she added. ‘It was horrible. He disgusted me.
It wasn’t until years later, when she turned 18, that she found the courage to report him to the police.
In April this year, Broadmore was sentenced to five and a half years in prison at York Crown Court for inciting sexual activity, indecent exposure, sexual assault and engaging in a sexual act in the presence of a child.
Imogen said Daniel “stole her childhood” and made her think she would “never be believed.”
“He should have had more time for what he did,” he continued. “But I’m relieved that he’s no longer on the streets and can’t hurt anyone else.”
