The star detailed her 16-hour labor and said her daughter, whose name she has not revealed, was taken immediately after birth for tests.

Oti, whose husband is fellow dancer Marius Iepure, was diagnosed with sepsis during childbirth and, as a result, her daughter suffered infections, leading to a six-week stay in the NICU.

“She was very premature, she came very, very early, an unexpected premature which was a very, very big shock,” he told the newspaper. Happy Mom, Happy Baby Podcast.

“Going through that emotional trauma that you go through when you have a premature baby, and then being in the hospital with the little one for six weeks and finally getting out and having her home with friends and family for Christmas was really nice.”

Oti said her baby, born last fall in a British hospital, was in a “critical” condition for a “traumatic” first six weeks.

“She had infections because it turned out I had sepsis and it’s something that was missed or not tested for,” he explained. However, she was very grateful for the care her baby received. “The NHS, midwives, doctors and consultants were amazing,” she added.

The new mother recently spoke about the birth

The new mother recently opened up about the “traumatic” birth of her first child earlier this week after she and husband Marius Lepure welcomed their daughter last fall.

Despite an initially smooth pregnancy in which she felt “sexy”, “empowered” and saw her skin “glow”, she was told she had gestational diabetes at 28 weeks, before her premature birth.

“When I first saw her, I was shocked that I did, and she was the most beautiful human being I had ever seen in my life – beautiful,” he said.

‘At that moment when you are so happy and euphoric, 16 hours passed and then they were taken away.

“Because now, born very small, very small, they had to check if she has infections, if her lungs are well enough, if she can eat on her own, if all her organs have developed and she is well enough.”
