Fans have taken to social media to express their frustrations over Nicolas Jackson’s challenge to Takehiro Tomiyasu..

They felt Jackson “got away with it” by “deliberately trampling” Tomiyasu during Arsenal’s Premier League clash with Chelsea on Tuesday night.

Jackson, 22, was looking to close down Tomiyasu after he bypassed Conor Gallagher in the middle of the field, but ended up crashing into him.

However, it was the fact that the Chelsea star, 22, took the dive with his cleats on that frustrated football fans on social media.

They took to social media to question how Jackson got away without a card, with some claiming he should have received a yellow card “at the very least”.

One fan wrote: “I thought it was mean but it also seems pretty deliberate.” Another added: ‘Break ankles and no card? That makes sense’.

Some fans shouted at VAR, with one writing: “VAR sleeps… terrible.”

While one follower tagged the official Professional Game Match Officials account and said: ‘WHAT’S YOUR FUCKING EXCUSE?’
