Football fans mocked Reece James for his recent appearance at a fashion show, where he appeared to be mopping floors.
The Chelsea and England defender has been suffering from injuries throughout the season, which is why he missed the national team call-up for Euro 2024.
In his free time before the start of pre-season, James, 24, walked the runway for Los Angeles-based luxury brand Nahmias, but fans were quick to laugh at the Blues star, who was dressed as a concierge for the experience.
One wrote on X (formerly Twitter): ‘Reece James mopping floors while Trent Alexander Arnold wears England’s number 8 at the Euro…’
Another linked to England’s official portrait of the Liverpool star, noting: “England number 8 Trent Alexander Arnold and then he’s mopping the floor Reece James.” Levels’.
Reece James was spotted mopping floors while modeling at a Los Angeles event over the weekend.
His season has been ruined by injury and he missed out on the Euro 2024 squad as a result.
Fans took to X (ex-Twitter) to mock the Chelsea and England defender over the cleaning photos.
‘Take a step forward for the country? No ! Reece James shows off her cleaning skills,’ another user wrote.
A fourth added: “Reece James finally found something he’s good at,” followed by two laughing-crying emojis.
Due to his injury problems, James played just 30 minutes of action for the Blues in 2024, and was left out of Gareth Southgate’s plans for this summer’s tournament.
It was an unhappy club campaign for Chelsea’s centre-back and captain, who received two red cards at Newcastle and Brighton for silly reasons.
After missing the final game of the season against Bournemouth last month, he will also be suspended for the first three games of next campaign.
Chelsea’s attempt to have his suspension lifted for the start of next season has been unsuccessful after their reasoning was rejected by the FA.
