Katie Price has revealed the moment her doctor told her son Harvey he was blind before leaving her “in limbo”.
The 45-year-old glamor model took Harvey to a GP when he was just weeks old, after a health visitor noticed he was struggling to follow a light with his eyes.
Harvey was later diagnosed as blind, autistic, has septo-optic dysplasia and learning disabilities, and is one of 2,000 people in the UK with Prader-Willi syndrome, a genetic disorder.
But Katie said she was stunned by the treatment she received from her GP during the shocking moment her son was first diagnosed as a baby.
She said on the Anything Goes podcast with James English: “I remember sitting there with my mom and him [the doctor] She was taking out all his stuff looking him in the eye and suddenly she said, as cheeky as this, “Yes, he’s blind, yes, he’s blind.”
Harvey is partially blind, autistic, has septo-optic dysplasia and a genetic disorder, Prader-Willi syndrome.
Now the former model has revealed how she was completely left in ‘limbo’ by doctors, who offered no advice or support to the young mother.
“And my mother and I looked at each other and thought, ‘Is he definitely blind?’ [the doctor] We said “yeah, he’s blind” and we said “okay.”
‘He said, “Yes, I’m really sorry” and we just sat there like it was nothing. And that was it.
“We just left the room, not saying, ‘Oh, we can give you some advice or there are people you want to talk to.’
‘We leave the room, so if he is blind, what now? They just left us in limbo.
“On the way home, my mother was very angry and couldn’t believe that I was really blind.”
Harvey, now 21, has been diagnosed with multiple disorders, including autism, septo-optic dysplasia, Prader-Willi syndrome and blindness.
Katie went on to say that “to be honest, that made me love him more.” I will protect you much more

This comes after she also claimed that Harvey’s father and former Premier League footballer Dwight Yorke has only seen his son nine times since he was born.
When Katie first became pregnant with Harvey, Dwight denied that he was the father until a DNA test proved his paternity.
When asked how many times Manchester United legend Yorke had seen Harvey, Katie replied: “I think he’s seen Harvey about nine times in his life.”
He added that “I don’t think he liked me being with Pete.” [Andre] and stated: ‘I don’t know if it’s because he couldn’t have me or Harv, to this day I don’t know.
“I’ve tried sending him pictures of Harvey on Instagram, Harvey playing the piano, but he just ignores it all. He doesn’t want to know. But the door is always open, always.
When asked why, he explained: “I don’t know, because that’s who I am.” I should really say fuck you idiot, you don’t deserve it, you haven’t been a part of this because I don’t know, I just think if she saw Harvey and how amazing he is. , for him to say ‘damn, I haven’t seen my biological son’.
“Any man can have a baby, but it takes a real man to be a father in my eyes, but it’s still his biological son and, I guess, to prove him wrong because when he found out he was blind and all this, it was like He’ll never play golf, ‘he’ll never play football because of you.’ And I thought, ‘It’s not my fault.’

The star is also mother to son Junior, 18, and daughter Princess, 16, from her previous relationship with Mysterious Girl singer Peter Andre, and shares son Jett, nine, and daughter Bunny, eight, with her ex Kieran Hayler.
