Pixie Lott has opened up about how her life has changed after releasing new music for the first time in 10 years.
The singer, 33, found fame at 18 when her debut single Mama Do (Uh Oh, Uh Oh) hit number one in 2009, but insisted she is no longer worried about chart success.
The award-winning artist revealed that she is instead focused on touring with her son Albert, whom she welcomed last year with husband Oliver Chester, and simply enjoying the release of the album.
Speaking exclusively to MailOnline about her new single, Somebody’s Daughter, Pixie explained that it has taken her “five years” to perfect her writing and sound and that she hasn’t followed any “trends”.
She said: “Part of the reason for making this kind of album was to have live shows in mind, as if a real band were working.” “Performing live is my favorite thing, I love writing, I love being in the studio, but performing live is my number one.”

The British artist revealed that she is focused on enjoying the release of the album and going on tour with her son Albert, whom she welcomed last year with her husband Oliver Chester.
She continued: “Touring this album is definitely on the agenda. I think because this album comes out in September, the tour will probably be next year. But on July 11th I have my first headline show I’ve done in years.
“I think people probably think it’s really rock and roll on tour, I’m sure it is for a lot of bands, but I was always that, even when I was 18, with the voice backstage resting with a voice of honey and lemon”. without talking and warming up. It wasn’t really rock and roll until the last show of the tour.
However, he insisted that now is the right time for his return, reasoning, “I feel like it’s the perfect time.” The main thing is that I get to experience this whole new era with my little baby, Bertie.
‘I’m going to take him with me on as many experiences and adventures as possible. He already has his little hearing protectors so he can come to the show and I’m happy to be able to share them with him this time.’
Pixie admitted that she is still “learning the ins and outs” of the music industry as it has “changed a lot” since she last released an album.
He noted that artists are no longer “worried about chart positions” and are more focused on releasing singles quickly.
She said: “It’s crazy that it’s been 10 years because I don’t know how it happened. I’ve done a lot of different things throughout those 10 years, but I never wanted it to take that long to release an album.”
“I feel like the music industry has changed a lot and I feel like I’m still learning the ins and outs because my brain is still in how it was before.”
“Now people don’t care about chart positions anymore and in the past they always said, ‘Let’s promote it and then we’ll focus on that release week and then we’ll go for that chart position’ and now people aren’t worried about chart positions.
‘Everything has also changed in the sense that people release songs all the time. It’s very fast paced and this album is actually the complete opposite of that.’

Pixie explained that she has been working on her album for “five years” and has avoided “trends” so that her music is undated.
She revealed that this time she worked with a small group that she “trusted” instead of before, when she was placed with “different producers and writers every day” and never had the opportunity to build a relationship to write openly.
The mother of one said she’s “glad” she’s “done the complete opposite” with her writing process of what the music industry is like now.
She explained: “It’s been five years in the making, longer than I thought, but luckily, because it was this timeless style of music, I hope it can come out any day now.”
“If it were more of a trend now, I definitely would have dated it five years later, but it’s been more of an album process where you just pay attention to the details and write these songs, go back to them, change the lyrics, and really perfects. and entering.
“I’ve really taken the time to do it, which is a big contrast in today’s type of music business, but hey, that’s how I wanted it to be.”
“It started as a passion project I was doing on the side just for myself. and then I thought: why do I do it in parallel? I should focus on it. So I took a bit of a risk and did it on my own.
‘It was a small group of people I worked with during those five years. We really delved into other sides of me, the deeper sides I’d never written about before.
‘I felt like I had developed that confidence that you can go to those places. I loved doing it, so we covered all the different topics, so it’s going to be about love, family, nostalgia, mental health and a wide range of topics.
“Before, when I was making albums, I was working with completely different producers and writers every day.”
Pixie released her new single Somebody’s Daughter on June 20 and will release her fourth studio album, Encino, on September 27.
Earlier this year, Pixie confirmed her son Albert’s adorable name and gender after keeping it a secret.
She shared a snap of her son’s christening and, in the caption, announced that they named their baby Albert Charles Cheshire.
She wrote: ‘Albert Charles Cheshire. It’s already been the most incredible time of our lives with you, little Bertie, and we feel incredibly lucky that you’ve chosen us to be your myd xx.’
Pixie looked effortlessly glamorous in a pink collared mini dress, which she paired with silver pumps and a blue faux fur-lined jacket.
She sweetly cradled her baby, who was swaddled in a blue blanket and a knitted hat, while model Oliver kissed her on the cheek outside the church.
Pixie’s fourth studio album, Encino, will be released on September 27.
