A Queensland father has been found guilty of raping his own 10-year-old daughter.
The man, from North Burnett, performed oral sex on the girl and raped her as he lay behind her in her bed, the Townsville District Court heard.
Crown prosecutor Shannon Sutherland told jurors the “overwhelming” DNA evidence showed “possible” traces of the man’s saliva on the girl’s underwear, the Townsville Bulletin reported.

The court was also told the victim’s sister was “adamant” she saw the sexual abuse through cracks in the bedroom wall.
The girl’s mother, who is now the man’s ex-wife, told the court she saw the man lying behind the girl on her bed.
Defense lawyer Kelly Mython claimed the victim and her sisters had made up the allegations, saying there had been an “evolution” of the girls’ stories during police interrogations.
The defense had claimed earlier during the three-day trial that the victim had only claimed that her father had penetrated her after her sisters told her.
Mython also told the jury that the sister’s evidence was unreliable as the lights were off at the time she claimed to have seen the rape.
The jury took only one hour of deliberation to find the father guilty of rape and indecent treatment of a child under 12 of lineal descent.
The man, who cannot be identified, was granted bail due to his complex health problems ahead of his sentencing.
The matter will return to court on June 6.
