Donald Trump isn’t waiting for Thursday’s prime-time debate to insult his rival, even mocking his golf game.
Amid speculation that President Biden would look for ways to get under Trump’s skin to lure him into counterproductive bluster, Trump launched a series of online invectives Wednesday, accusing Biden of planting stories, cheating in college, lying in general and being bad at golf.
Trump, an avid golfer who retreated to his Mar-a-Lago club after skipping Biden’s 2020 inauguration, also launched a new nickname for Biden: “Lying Machine.”
This comes after repeatedly calling him “corrupt,” an insult he adapted from his 2016 campaign against Hillary Clinton.

CNN’s political director has said the goal is to allow candidates to address each other, with the network doing fact checks after the fact. That could be a green light for candidates to twist facts to score a point without facing immediate consequences.

Trump says Biden ‘created’ a story about Trump calling people who serve in the military stupid and losers, but it’s actually been attributed to Trump’s former chief of staff, General John Kelly.
In addition to calling Biden a ‘lying machine,’ Trump added: ‘Maybe we should call him ‘Liar Joe’ in addition to Crooked?’
Trump reused that insult after applying it to former FBI chief James Comey and Texas Sen. Ted Cruz.

Trump’s concern over lack of fact-checkers comes later Washington Post Journalists determined that he made 30,573 false or misleading statements during his tenure.
Trump himself was inaccurate in describing how Biden inflated his law school performance.
Biden claimed in a memorable confrontation while campaigning for president in New Hampshire in 1987 to be in the “top half” of his law school class. Fact Checkers established that it ended near the end. Biden blurted out to a reporter at the time, “I think I probably have a much higher IQ than you,” and she soon ended her primary campaign.
Biden’s claim that he drove an 18-wheeler has been discredited. (The White House once tried to count Biden’s part-time job as a school bus driver.)
Each contestant seems to have come to the conclusion that golf attacks have some effect. In March, Biden mocked Trump after the former president posted online about winning a pair of trophies at his own golf club.
