Emily Maitlis made a radiant appearance at the Variety Club Showbusiness Awards at the Londoner Hotel in Leicester Square on Sunday night.
The former Newsnight presenter’s attendance comes following the success of the Netflix film Scoop, which was based on her now infamous interview with Prince Andrew.
The journalist, played by Gillian Anderson in the drama, questioned the Duke of York about his friendship with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
Based on the book Scoops, by booker Sam McAlister, the film captures the tension behind the royal hiring and the interview itself.
Gillian Anderson’s performance as Emily received praise as did Billie Piper, who plays Sam, the producer who secured the interview with Prince Andrew.

During the awards ceremony, Emily cut a glamorous figure in a strapless ivory top, which featured ruched belt details around her waist.
She paired the top with a long black skirt and finished the look with a pair of white gloves and strappy heels.
Emily wore her cropped blonde locks down and opted for soft touches of makeup.
Emily is a producer on another adaptation of the Newsnight interview, which is currently in production with Amazon Prime Video.

The Amazon version retells Emily’s professional and personal journey in the lead-up to her BBC Two interview with Prince Andrew, played by actor Michael Sheen.

It was claimed Amazon bosses are desperately trying to come up with ideas to promote A Very Royal Scandal, fearing the public have lost interest in the story.
An informant said Sun: ‘Amazon is in crisis talks’.
“They spent a lot of money and they’re really worried that when it comes out, the public will think, ‘We’ve seen this,’ and it will flop.”
One idea the bosses reportedly came up with is to get journalist Maitlis to question actress Ruth Wilson, who plays her in the miniseries.
The source added: “Getting Scoop out first was the best.”
“Amazon feels it has already lost the battle with Netflix.”

It comes after Emily spoke out about Netflix’s dramatization of her infamous interview with Prince Andrew, saying she “let them do their thing.”

Emily said she wasn’t involved “because I think the last thing they want is for me to peek around the edges” offering her views.
Sam also talked about Scoop and was asked: Hello! on the red carpet if he had received contact from Buckingham Palace. Laughing, she replied: “I’m still waiting for my CBE, but I’m not sure it’s going to happen.”
Emily said Deadline that Netflix has said that Scoop is “based on a fictional account, so I think it goes different places and does different things” than the Amazon series.
The disclaimer used by Netflix for Scoop reads: “This film is based on true events; however, certain elements have been fictionalized for dramatic purposes.”
Emily said she hadn’t seen Scoop before it premiered, but would “watch it at some point.”
