Comedian Matt Hey was shocked by the price of an iced mocha in Sydney.

A customer in Sydney was outraged when he realized an iced mocha would cost him $7 more compared to the hot alternative.

Comedian Matt Hey, known as well hey On social media, he detailed the conversation he had with the cafe employee and was shocked by the price difference.

He claims that a regular iced mocha costs $12.20, while a regular hot mocha costs $5.20, so he ordered the latter.

‘Tell me why I went to buy an iced mocha and he told me it would cost me $12.20. And I said, “How much is a hot mocha?” and she says, “$5.20,” Matt said in a TikTok video.

‘I’m so sorry… come back? $7 extra to have my drink ice cold? What do you mean?’

Matt then asked if there was more coffee or milk in the iced version, but the employee said they are both regular size and hold two shots of espresso.

‘So where do you get the extra fucking $7, buddy?’ What do you mean? Where does it come from?’ he said angrily.

‘You’re not even doing that much work. It is not necessary to heat the milk. So why are you charging me an extra $7… for what? You’re crazy, love. What is happening?’

After 48 hours, the video surpassed 299,000 views and others agreed that the price difference is “ridiculous.”

“The way I would unapologetically order a hot mocha and a cup of ice,” one said.

“It’s a scandal, honestly,” wrote another.

“You can get 2 liters of iced coffee at Coles for $6,” a third noted.

One more said: ‘PLEASE tell me you didn’t pay for it!?’

And Matt said, ‘No, they gave me the hot one, served hot.’

It comes as an avid foodie was left stunned after breakfast with a friend at a cafe cost almost $150 – or the equivalent of a plane ticket to the Gold Coast.

Mark, who shares cafe reviews on social media for his Breakfast Shirts brand, visited Piña in Potts Point in Sydney’s inner city with his friend John on Saturday.

She spent $47 after making her own breakfast with a $32 steak and egg dish, $6 avocado, $4.50 bacon and $3 hash browns.

The couple also ordered and shared the cafe’s popular $26 bowl of congee.

Their meals totaled $143.55, which also included three coffees and a weekend surcharge.
