A couple who woke up to an eerie ‘fighting’ sound echoing through their home were left stunned to discover a flock of sheep had climbed onto their roof.
Kristen Jackson, 28, and Daniel Payne, 33, were in bed when they noticed the unusual sound coming from above them at around 8am on Friday.
And when Kristen emerged from the house in Whitworth, Lancashire, she was shocked to see the sheep had managed to jump to the top of the single-storey bungalow.
She managed to film the bizarre encounter on her phone, which showed four sheep wandering around the roof before calmly climbing down to the other side.
Kristen said: ‘I was working from home and my partner had the day off, but I was awake and heard a lot of noises on the ceiling.

She managed to film the bizarre encounter on her phone, which showed four sheep wandering around her roof.
The herd calmly walked away from the other side of their house after using it as a temporary path.
I woke my partner up and asked, “Do you hear that?” He said, “It’s probably just birds.”
‘As the forest is close to us, there are many wood pigeons and it is not the first time we have heard them on the street. But I was sure that they were much louder and that they had been like that for a while.’
Curious to find out what was causing the noise, Kristen put on a robe and went out the back door. She found four sheep on the roof, which left her in shock.
Kristen said: ‘I burst out laughing and ran inside to grab my phone as I had to take a photo because no one would believe me, but I shouted to my partner to come outside and said I had to see this.
‘I didn’t tell him what it was, so when he came out, I think he must have thought I was overreacting to something.
“He looked up and couldn’t believe it and started laughing. We knew how they got on the roof, but it’s still crazy to think they did it.”
Kristen, who has lived in the house she is renovating with Daniel since last June, says that while there were sheep and cows near her house before, she had never seen them on the roof until Thursday.
Kristen added: ‘I’m more concerned that they didn’t cause any damage or fall off the edges as it’s a big fall.
“When they saw us, the sheep were frightened, so fortunately they immediately came down from the roof and managed to return to the hill towards the fields.”
