The mermaid said at the end of April that she finds the Met Gala ‘frightening’. During an appearance at Lives with Kelly and MarkHe told the hosts: ‘Going up the stairs is very daunting and I haven’t been back for about four or five years. So this is the first time I’ve been back to the Met in a while.

The dress code will be The Garden of Time, which is said to be inspired by JG Ballard’s 1962 short story of the same name.

Vogue has explained that the dress code will focus on “fleeting beauty.”

Zendaya’s first Met Gala was in 2015 for the China: Through The Looking Glass Costume Institute charity gala.

It was held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City on May 4, 2015.
