Police have shot a man after he reportedly threatened them with a gun in Far North Queensland.
It is understood the man had stolen a police car and was seen driving erratically along Mulgrave Road, in Woree, Cairns, on Wednesday morning, shortly after 8am.
Police chased the driver for about an hour before he crashed into other vehicles outside Woree IGA.

The man was shot several times when he threatened the officers with a metal pole, the mail reported.
The man has been taken to Cairns Hospital in a stable condition.
Queensland Police said in a statement that police are responding to an “developing incident.”
“There is no threat to the public and police are asking people to avoid the area,” they said.
The northbound lanes along Bruce Highway near Mulgrave Rd were initially closed but have since reopened.
