Dramatic footage captured the moment a driver performed high-speed burnouts before his car crashed into a tree and burst into flames.
Police were called to a street in the north-west Adelaide suburb of Woodville West at 1.45am on Monday after reports that a Holden sedan was on fire in the middle of the road.
The car crashed into a tree before turning onto the street, where it left a trail of gasoline that soon caught fire.

Witnesses, who reported hearing an “explosion,” told police they saw the driver flee the scene as the vehicle caught fire.
Security cameras from nearby homes show a figure walking away down the street as the fireball erupts.
Officers tracked the registered owner to an address a few streets away, where he allegedly returned a breathalyzer test of nearly twice the legal limit.
Witnesses, who reported hearing an “explosion,” told police they saw the driver flee the scene as the vehicle caught fire.
“He was reported for driving under the influence of alcohol, driving without due care and leaving the scene of an accident,” a South African police spokesperson said.
“He lost his license on the spot for six months.”
Police also confirmed the driver will be summoned to appear in the Port Adelaide Magistrates Court at a later date.
