One woman whose acne made her feel ‘ugly’ and ‘self-conscious’ has claimed that a £ 12.95 natural silver serum helped clear her skin in just four weeks.
Taylor Setterfield, 20, from Chichester, talked about how her cystic acne was so bad at one point that almost ‘every inch of her face was covered with scarlet cysts’.
However, after trying several over-the-counter products without success, the marketing assistant claimed to have found an unlikely solution in the form of Clarol’s Silver Serum, which costs £ 12.95.
“I got teenage acne like most other kids, but it went away by the time I was about 16 and my skin was flawless,” Taylor explains.
My acne came back unfortunately when I got into an abusive relationship and the stress caused my acne to come back with a vengeance, but this time it was cystic, which is more than just normal teen acne.

Taylor claims her dermatologist told her the emotional stress she experienced as a result of her relationship was likely the reason for her adult cystic acne.
“When I was younger I was worried about my acne, but because everyone else had it too, I didn’t feel so self-conscious,” Taylor explains.
But when I got cystic acne when I was older, after everyone else’s acne cleared, it made me so insecure that I didn’t want to leave my bedroom.
The serum (above) costs £ 12.95 for 50ml and Taylor claimed to notice an improvement in her skin after four weeks
“I remember staring at myself in the mirror all the time, so confused I couldn’t look like the other girls my age.”
Taylor says everyone would recommend different products that worked on their skin, but nothing worked for her.
“My friends often talk about how they go to bed with their makeup on and that they don’t even have a facial care routine, but their skin is flawless,” she continued.
‘I have such a thorough skin care routine for every morning and evening and have been doing it for years – yet I suffer from severe acne. It seems unbelievably unfair. ‘
At the age of 19, Taylor was referred to a dermatologist through her doctor so that the experts could help her as her acne was getting worse.
“They gave me everything from lymecycline and zineryt to dua cream and at the end of last year I took a course of Accutane last summer,” she explained. ‘It took me four months.
“The only thing that had any effect was Accutane, but the side effects were so terrible that I didn’t want to take another course.”

‘I am normally one of the most exciting, most confident people you can meet, but when my acne was bad my fears were huge and I would lose all my confidence.’
How does Silver serum work?
– Silver Serum is designed to stay active on the skin for several hours after application, so acne lesions are constantly protected from population numbers with bad skin bacteria
– MicroSilver ™ has been found in two studies to reduce inflammation and infection in skin lesions.
– It was found to be effective in reducing the severity and symptoms of skin infection in 70% of patients after a two week trial period
– In a longer study of patients with a severe skin infection, 93% of other drug treatments were able to get rid of after applying MicroSilver ™ to their infected skin
Taylor went on to explain that she is “lucky” not to be bullied for her acne like some people.
‘I accidentally got a few people to say things … someone thought my acne was freckles in photos and someone else thought I got pink hair dye on my face – but they didn’t want to be nasty,’ she explained.
“I know so many other people who were bullied for their acne.”
She continued: “I hated my face so much that I stared at it for hours. I thought I was so ugly.
‘When I left a past relationship, my whole face became red and swollen and very painful.
“I felt like it distorted the shape of my face because my skin was so inflamed.”
However, in May, Taylor discovered Clarol Silver Serum through another acne sufferer who follows her on my Instagram (@taylorr_setters), where she shares a lot of acne advice with others.
“Without this product, I think I would have lost all hope,” she said.
Initially, Silver Serum caused my skin to ‘purify’ a bit, so I wasn’t 100% sure it would work – but after about two weeks my skin started to purify.
“First the redness and swelling eased and then slowly but surely the deep painful bumps and bumps diminished until I only had normal” spots “. Eventually they went too after about a month. ‘

Now, two months later, Taylor can go out in public more or less makeup-free, which she says if you told her a year ago, she never would have believed it.
‘My skin isn’t perfect or flawless, but it’s improved so drastically that most days I am grateful looking in the mirror,’ she said. Even though it’s not perfect, my skin is now glowing while it used to look dull and blotchy.
‘I feel like for the first time in my life I can look at and love my skin, despite the scars and the few spots that lurk, I feel like there is finally a long, hard battle won and I love myself and my skin to survive. ‘
‘I really deserve to be loved, just like my skin. My skin now feels its clearest and healthiest for about two years. ‘
