A woman who had no idea she was pregnant gave birth at a Taco Bell just months after losing her nine-month-old son in a car accident.
Breonni Jackson, a home health nurse from Virginia, stopped by Taco Bell-KFC in South Richmond to pick up lunch for the patient she was caring for.
During the April 30 visit, he suffered severe stomach cramps and ran to the bathroom. She realized there was blood and, in a panic, she called her husband.
Her husband, Jamarz Jackson, who works nearby at VCU Medical Center, recalled that his wife was ‘crying, breathing hard’. As she ran to get to her side, she said, she heard a ‘“Hearing scream,” then silence.
He heard his wife scream: ‘Oh my God, oh my God.’ That’s when she told him, “I just had a baby.” Surprised, he replied: ‘You did what?!’ And he asked ‘Boy or girl?’
“It’s a girl,” his wife said, before calling 911. The employees of the fast food chain did not know that a baby was being born a few meters away from them until the ambulance arrived.
Breonni Jackson went into labor at Taco-Bell a year after losing her son in a car accident. She appears in the photo with her new baby, Ayanna, and her husband Jamarz Jackson.
Baby Ayanna was born on April 30 and was a ‘gift’ and ‘dream come true’ for the parents
Last June, Breonni and her husband Jamarz lost their nine-month-old son Jy’Aire, who died in a car accident near the intersection of Hull Street Road and Skin Quarter Lane, it was reported WTVR News.
Breonni was driving when her car collided with a pickup truck and a camper that was stopped on the shoulder, according to the news outlet.
The ordeal was a nightmare for the parents. She recalled, “knowing that I lost my son doing something I do every day was the worst thing that ever happened to me.”
She was charged with two misdemeanors and one of them was dismissed. She was given a suspended sentence and a fine for driving with bad brakes.
Breonni told the news outlet that the loss of her son tested her faith. In desperation, Jamazrz said: ‘questioning God, you know, why?’ he said.
Still grieving the loss of her son, Breonni said her daughter’s birth “couldn’t have come at a better time.”
He added: “I’m still in shock.”
The Taco Bell-KFC is located in the South Richmond business district and is where Breonni gave birth to her unexpected bundle of joy.
The Jacksons had no idea they would become parents again.
Breonni said she didn’t know she was pregnant and that doctors told her she had a condition known as a cryptic pregnancy.
A cryptic pregnancy is when a person does not know they are pregnant until the last trimester or possibly until labor begins. A person with this condition does not experience typical pregnancy symptoms, Medical news today.
Breonni was 34 and a half weeks pregnant when she gave birth; A full-term pregnancy is between 39 weeks, or 40 weeks and 6 days, according to the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.
Their daughter, whose name is Ayanna, is a “dream come true.”
“Losing one and actually winning another is definitely the best gift we could ask for,” Breonni said.
The elated father said: ‘But behold, a miracle.’ Out of nowhere…in the Taco Bell bathroom.
