A nightmare housemate has admitted carrying out a series of firebombing attacks and attempting to run over her housemates in a campaign of revenge after she was evicted.

Backpacker Tsai-Wei Hung, from Taiwan, pleaded guilty to the offenses in court on Wednesday.

Hung appeared before the Melbourne Magistrates Court via video link from custody and pleaded guilty to 11 charges including arson, damage to property and reckless conduct endangering serious injury.

“Guilty,” the 32-year-old woman said when asked if she would plead guilty, the Herald of the sun reported.

Hung was evicted from her home in Clyde North, Melbourne, on March 10, 2024, and then carried out a months-long revenge campaign against her former housemates.

In video evidence shown in court, Hung was seen hitting bollards as he tried to run over his housemates, pouring petrol into their cars before setting them on fire and throwing Molotov cocktails at the door of the house.

His crusade began a few hours after he told her to leave the Viewbank Road rental house, when he returned and attacked the garage.

When his surprised former housemates ran out to see what was happening, Hung tried to run them over with his car.

A clip filmed on a phone showed a car driving fast down a narrow street before crashing into bollards and chasing housemates across the grass.

After running back inside, Hung rammed the garage door, causing significant damage to the door and the cars inside.

Hung returned the next day, entered the garage through the damaged door and smashed the windshields of the vehicles there.

Later that day, she went to a police station and told officers that her housemates had abused her.

Those allegations are still being investigated.

Hung was charged and released on bail, and police obtained personal security intervention orders prohibiting her from approaching or contacting her former housemates.

When he later failed to appear for his court date, a warrant was issued for his arrest.

Then, around 3 a.m. on June 10, he returned to his old house, set fire to his colleagues’ cars and threw Molotov cocktails at the door.

The terrified occupants shouted to each other “he’s back, he’s back” after the explosions woke them up.

The next day, Hung demanded $30,000 to stop the attacks.

On June 12 he went to a property in Berwick, where he attempted to set fire to the house while shouting “just go die” and “go to hell”.

She was also accused of allegedly selling a rental car to an unsuspecting buyer for $8,900.

Hung has been remanded in custody since his arrest last June and will face a pre-sentence hearing at the County Court in the coming months.
