Woman says thieves stole APARTMENT, broke into, threw away stuff, changed locks, hung up Christmas tree

One woman has alleged that thieves attempted to steal her apartment by breaking into her apartment, changing the locks and throwing away most of her belongings while she was gone – and they even set up her Christmas tree.

Shayna Rice, of Tacoma, Washington, was completely shocked when she came home one day to find other people living in her house.

The mother-of-one claimed that two strangers broke into her apartment while she was away. But they didn’t just rob her and leave.

In the end, the police kicked in the door and arrested the intruders, who allegedly had a handgun and a knife.

“The police had to kick down our door because we couldn’t get in because they changed the locks. They were clearly still inside.

She added, showing viewers the various things that were missing and the empty rooms of her house: “They had a gun and a knife that the police found. They drew on our pictures. They went to the storage and put up Christmas decorations. They stole our dryer.’

In another clip, Shayna spoke further about the situation, explaining that she has more than one apartment, so she hadn’t been there in a while.

She went to pick her up a few weeks ago Christmas tree, but noticed that the storage room (which is on their porch) had been tinkered with and taped over the deadbolt, so she decided not to go in.

A neighbor told her they heard an argument from the apartment, but they assumed it was her. They also said they had recently seen a lot of garbage bags outside the house.

A few days later, Shayna went back and found that the tape was gone and that there was now a shiny new lock on the door.

However, she thought her landlord was the one who changed it.

“I thought, ‘Maybe something happened and they needed to change the locks. Maybe someone broke in,” Shayna explained.

But when she went to the building’s office and asked them about it, the management team said they had no idea why the lock had been changed, and she was alerted.

She continued: “They called the maintenance chief and they said they never touched our door and they haven’t been to our apartment. They say, “You should call the police.”

When the police arrived, they noticed wood splinters on the floor near the door – as if someone had kicked it in earlier to gain access to the apartment.

“They kicked in the door, somehow got it working and took our lock out and replaced the lock,” Shayna claimed.

“The police start knocking on the door, they say, ‘Who’s in here. Open up.” But they don’t open the door.

‘[They] lower the door and boom, the cops rush in. All I hear is, “Raise your hands.”‘

Once inside, Shayna said the police had found a gun and a knife. They took out a man and a woman whom she said she did not recognize.

And when she was finally allowed to enter her house, she was shocked by what she saw. Not only did they sell her valuables and put the rest of her things in garbage bags, but they also put up some of her Christmas decorations.

“As soon as we go up the stairs, the first thing we see in the living room is hella bags, hella s**t packed, put in a nice corner in the living room,” she explained.

‘The second thing that strikes me is that there are Christmas decorations. My mini tree they got from my storage, little stocking holders, Christmas lights.

“The next thing I noticed was the big knife they had. They were ready to fight over this apartment. They said, “This is our s**t, you can’t get it back.”‘

She said they also completely emptied her closet.

“My shoe rack was empty. All my shoes gone. All the purses that were there disappeared. I don’t know what they did with them, but they were gone,” she said.

All the TVs in the house were gone, as was her dryer, air fryer, and Apple computer.

“I don’t know how they got a big clothes dryer off those stairs when no one saw them, but apparently they did,” Shayna said.

According to Shayna, when the police spoke to the two strangers, they claimed that they had entered the house the night before and that someone had told them they could stay there.

‘They lie. First of all, they brought stuff. They brought my son’s dresser up to my room and put a large printer on it,” she added.

“They brought a laptop. They had time to redecorate like no one is stupid. They packed our shit, stole our stuff, probably sold it.

“We packed up our things and were probably going to give them away or sell them. I don’t know, but they kicked us out of our own house.”

Fortunately, Shayna told viewers that she has rental insurance and that she will file a claim on everything they took.
