A selfless sister is seven months pregnant with her older brother and sister after discovering that pregnancy can kill her sister and her unborn child.
34-year-old Rebekah Bragdon Adamson, who lives in Florida, was heartbroken to discover that surgery she had undergone 14 years ago had not allowed her to survive a pregnancy.
The baby’s biological mother, Rebekha, had surgery to remove her 20-year bladder after interstitial cystitis, which causes long-term bladder problems.
She didn’t realize it as a result, she was only able to carry a baby in January 2019 – after she married the husband of Chief Information Officer, Bobby, 38.
Brianna Bragdon, 28, from Maine, agreed to be a surrogate to her sister Rebekah Bragdon Adamson, 34, who lives in Florida because pregnancy could be fatal to her. Pictured: pregnant Brianna and her son Jack

After a year of trying to start a family, doctors told a devastated Rebekah that there was a 90 percent chance of pregnancy killing her.
The financial analyst younger sister, Brianna Bragdon, 28, from Maine, kindly stepped forward and offered to act as the couple’s surrogate.
Rebekah said, “I cried for three days when I found out I couldn’t have a baby.
“Nobody told me during the surgery that I wouldn’t be able to have children.
“I can get pregnant, I just wouldn’t make it because the baby would press against the bladder and the chance of infection would give us a very low chance of getting through.
“The idea of a stranger carrying the baby was scary, but my sister has a three-year-old son and no longer wants children.
“Her pregnancy went smoothly, so we told her she would have been the perfect person because the baby would be carried by family.
“We didn’t think it would ever happen, and then she said she would think about it and make sure it was right for her.

“We knew it was a lot to ask, but she came back and said she had strong feelings about wanting to carry the baby.”
Brianna, the mother of three-year-old Jack, said she loved helping her sister and the whole family is looking forward to meeting the baby girl in late August, including Bobby’s two children from a previous marriage, Annabelle, eight, and Alistair, six.
Trained to become an ultrasound technician, Brianna said: “I had a very easy pregnancy with my son, and I love my sister and would do anything for her.
“I knew I wanted to do it. I just had to pray for it, so it took me a few months to make the decision. ‘
Rebekah added, “I’ve always wanted children.
“I was very lucky to marry a man who already has two children, so we have children around, but I wanted to complete our family with one of our children.
Rebekah said if there are complications, she doesn’t want to endanger Brianna because she is her younger sister. In the photo: Rebekah, Alistair, Brianna, Jack and Annabelle

“We’re excited, but it’s also very scary, especially when I get my sister pregnant.
“Women go through a pregnancy to have a child, my sister does this to eventually have a niece.
“If there are complications, I don’t want to endanger her because she’s my little sister.
“She is a beautiful pregnant woman.
“We tell her all the time that it is extremely amazing that she wants to do this for us and bring her niece into the world.
“We are so grateful for her and I can’t imagine my life without her.”

The trio has taught their young children books about the concept of surrogacy, and Rebekah believes her cousin will have a very close relationship with his cousin.
Rebekah said, “She’s in her second trimester now and when we planned this, Covid 19 didn’t happen, so we thought her little son would be in school, but now she’s taking an active three-year full-time and is pregnant.”
Brianna added, “Jack is young enough not to think there’s anything strange about it, so he’s the perfect age.
“I’m excited for my sister and excited not to be pregnant again.
“I’m a big part of my niece’s life. I can’t wait to meet her. ‘
