Woman plunges to her death after falling from seventh-floor balcony in Parramatta – as man is arrested

A woman has died after falling seven stories from the balcony of an apartment in Parramatta, west of Sydney.

A woman has died after falling seven stories from an apartment balcony.

Emergency services were called to a block of units on River Rd in Parramatta, west of Sydney, about 1.40am on Thursday.

Officers arrived at the scene and discovered the woman, believed to be 39 years old, in the street with serious injuries.

New South Wales Police said officers attempted to resuscitate the woman, but she died at the scene. She has not yet been formally identified.

“A crime scene has been established and an investigation has been launched into the circumstances surrounding this incident, and police have spoken to several people in the unit block,” police said in a statement.

‘Detectives arrested a 40-year-old man who police believe is the woman’s partner.

“He remains at Parramatta Police Station.”

Police are investigating the circumstances of the woman’s death.
