Autumn Beede, 39, has been accused of neglecting children involving a boy who lived in dirty conditions last month without electricity, running water or basic needs
A Florida woman has been accused of neglecting children for leaving a boy alone for nine days in a house without running water, electricity, or food, forcing the child to survive on neighbor handouts.
Autumn Lee Beede, 39, from Cantonment, was arrested on Saturday, two weeks after sheriffs delegates who had a welfare check found the boy who lived without adult supervision in unfortunate circumstances.
Both were booked at Escambia County Prison and had a $ 5,000 bond loan. She was released the next day.
According to an arrest cited by Journal of Pensacola, a witness told the authorities that the boy had lived alone in a house without running water or electricity from February 5 to February 14. The boy’s age and his relationship with Beede have been edited from the report.
When an assistant sheriff walked into the welfare check, he was struck by a “heavy odor of fecal matter,” the report said.
The child told the officer that he had lived with a man in the house until February 5, when that person ended up in prison.
The child said that Sheriff’s deputy Beede had left some cakes for him on the veranda on February 14, but that she had not gone in to visit him.
A male friend of Beede shared this photo on Facebook on February 15 and had her pose with a young boy outside a movie theater
According to the report, the filthy house had about a month without electricity or running water due to non-payment of energy bills.
The child survived by going to his friends and neighbors to ask for basic necessities such as food and water.
The boy told the assistant sheriff that Beede had left cakes on the porch for him on the morning of February 14, but she had not gone inside to check on him.
According to the young victim, he had not seen Beede personally since 23 December 2019.
Beede has a long history of arrests on charges ranging from DUI to resistance to an officer
A witness told the police that when she spoke to Beede about the child’s living situation, the suspect told her to interfere with her own affairs, according to WEAR TV.
A day after the welfare check, a friend of Beede shared a photo on Facebook in which she posed with a young boy outside a cinema, where they had gone to watch the new Sonic the Hedgehog film.
The boy in the photo seems to be the son of Beede’s male friend. It is not confirmed that it is the same child that was found alone.
Court reports indicate that Beede has a long history of arrests and convictions in Escambia County dating back to at least 2006 on charges of opposing an officer, battery, DUI and theft.
