Woman migrant worker, child on his way from Gujarat to UP dead after raming their truck into another, 60 hurt
Two migrants returning from Gujarat died after the truck driving a stationary truck along the National Highway below Akbarpur Kotwali in the Kanpur Dehat area of Uttar Pradesh.
A woman and a child succumbed to the accident, while 60 others were injured. Some of them are in critical condition.
Extra SP Anoop Kumar rushed to the scene after the accident, accompanied by a police force.
The injured were sent to district hospitals in ambulances with the help of the locals and referred to Kanpur for further treatment.
The DCM truck carrying the migrants crashed into the stationary truck. Two people died in the accident, while many were seriously injured. The police have reached the spot and the relief and rescue operation is underway, “said Kumar.
Gyan Prakash Pandey, in charge of Lalpur Police Station, said: “The deceased woman has been identified, has Hiraman Ali, 50, wife of Akbar Ali, and was a resident of Panwapur, Utraula in Balrampur district in UP. The migrants were injured. The accident belonged to several districts of the state. ”
Previously, 18 migrant workers on their way home to the Kaushambi district in Uttar Pradesh were injured in a traffic accident from a quarantine center.
The accident had occurred when the pick-up truck in which the migrants were driving a twisted turtle, after the driver lost control of Selraha under Manjhanpur police station.
They had returned from Kalyan in Maharashtra after traveling in a truck for four days.
Meanwhile, in another incident, a migrant couple was crushed to death and their two children were seriously injured after being hit by an unknown vehicle on Lucknow’s Shaheed Path.
The migrant family cycled to Chhattisgarh after reportedly running out of resources during the ongoing shutdown.
