The short clip, titled ‘I swear Canes’ chicken is getting more like a nugget every time I go’, shows viewers sharing their own experience with the fast food chain.

“I was literally talking about this just now, they’re smaller than toast,” one viewer complained.

While another added: ‘They used to weigh over 2oz each, now they weigh between 1.6-1.8oz.’

“Please, mine was the size of my thumb… I haven’t used it since,” one TikToker revealed.

Several employees also revealed that the size of the offers was based entirely on the shipment they received.

One viewer wrote: ‘I used to work there – it depends on which plant we get our shipment from. Some weeks are bad and some are good, but the weight of the tender meat ranges from 1.4-2.3 ounces (I usually marinate the chicken and weigh it)’

While another added: ‘Cane worker, it depends on the shipment we receive. Some weeks we get good sized offers, other times they are small :/’

But the TikToker and her followers believe that “shrinkflation” is the reason why the once-massive tenders are now tiny nuggets.

According InvestmentpediaPrice inflation is “the practice of reducing the size of a product while maintaining its selling price.” It is a way of increasing profit margins in a more opaque way, compared to the other, more obvious way, which would be to keep the product the same but increase its price.
