A woman driving a Tesla was killed in a head-on collision with a pickup truck on a busy highway.
The 48-year-old woman was driving her Tesla Model 3 on Sunshine Motorway in Coolum Beach on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast at 2.35pm on Monday when she collided with a Toyota Hilux traveling in the opposite direction.
The woman, who was the only person inside the Tesla, died at the scene.
The 17-year-old driver of the Toyota was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
It is understood both drivers were trapped in their cars following the accident.
An investigation has been launched into the crash and anyone with information or dash cam footage is urged to contact police.
