A woman has been run over and killed by a lorry after getting out of her BMW on the A2 at Dartford Heath – the exact same spot where two people died in a horror crash just over a month ago.

Kent Police have launched an investigation after the unidentified motorist was mowed down around 2:45am on Saturday morning.

Officers and paramedics rushed to the scene of the accident, but she was pronounced dead at the scene. Her next of kin have been informed.

Kent Police said: ‘We are relying on information and dashcam footage after a pedestrian has died following a collision on the A2.’

Police said a white DAF truck was involved in the collision, adding that the woman had been driving a gray BMW that stopped on the coastal roadway prior to the incident.

The truck driver stopped after the collision.

The force added: ‘An investigation is underway by the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, which has resulted in the road being closed. The coastal route was reopened at 10:15 a.m.

“Drivers driving in both directions of the A2 are asked to check for dashcam images, which can help with the investigation.”

It comes after a man and woman in their 20s were killed in the same spot last month when their BMW landed on its roof.

They were driving a black BMW M3 on the A2 towards the ramp to Dartford Heath when the car left the lane and overturned around 10:30 am on 8 October.

Kent police said the man and woman had been pronounced dead at the scene, while the driver of the car was taken to a London hospital with serious injuries.

The A2 was closed in both directions all day.

Drivers described seeing a car on the roof after the incident and that there was a ‘lock’ in both directions on the A2.

Officers arrived at the scene along with the South East Coast Ambulance Service, Kent Fire and Rescue Service and the Air Ambulance.
