EXCLUSIVE

A husband who was found dead alongside his wife in a suspected murder-suicide was a known domestic violence offender and had several matters before the Queensland courts.

Habib Bayat, 34 years old, and Natasha Nibizi, 29, was found in a house on Redhead Street in Doolandella, in brisbane‘s southwest, at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Daily Mail Australia can reveal Bayat has a criminal record in Townsville and Brisbane relating to domestic violence and Family Court matters.

One of the domestic violence charges included a 2022 failure to comply.

Just hours after the couple were discovered dead, six of Bayat’s charges were finalized in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on Wednesday.

When contacted for details about the nature of the charges, a Brisbane Magistrates Court spokesperson told Daily Mail Australia they could not reveal them due to “sensitivities” and “Queensland law”.

The court also did not confirm whether, at the time of the deaths, Bayat was scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday, or whether the hearing was rescheduled in light of his death.

Queensland Police Detective Inspector Michael Hogan said officers arrived at the home after receiving a welfare call.

One of the bodies was reportedly found bound with zip ties, but police have not yet revealed how the couple died or if any weapons were found in the home.

CCTV captured by 9News showed Ms Nibizi entering the house on Tuesday and greeting a man at the front door.

Nibizi and Bayat got engaged in 2021 and married that year, before moving to Brisbane last December to reportedly be closer to Bayat’s family.

Her best friend Asfaty Shindano said the mother of four had just gotten a new job the day before her death, according to the mail.

She said she had been with Nibizi on Tuesday when her husband called her and said he wanted to talk to her.

Natasha Nibizi, 29, and her husband Habib Bayat were found dead in a house on Redhead Street in Doolandella, southwest of Brisbane, at 7pm on Tuesday.

Neighbors described the discovery as “creepy” and said the occupants of the house were “calm.”

“She was sleeping at home and her husband called her saying he wanted to meet her…he wanted to talk to her,” Mrs. Shindano told the publication.

“We were worried when she didn’t answer our phone calls.”

A man dressed in a blue forensic suit was removed from the property by detectives after the discovery of the bodies, while a second man was chased from the scene.

None of the men, who lived at the house, are believed to have been at the house at the time of the incident and are not being considered suspects, but are assisting police with their inquiries.

There were no children in the house at that time.

Nibizi’s youngest son is only eight months old.
