A woman who was displaced from her Aurora, Colorado apartment by the Tren de Aragua gang criticized ABC News for downplaying the damage caused in an interview with JD Vance.

Cindy and Edward Romero moved out of the apartment for safety reasons after filming a gang shootout in late August.

Martha Raddatz grilled Vance on ABC’s ‘This Week’ on Sunday, claiming it was ‘limited to a handful of apartment complexes’ and that it had already been fixed, leaving the vice presidential candidate furious.

talking to Fox News Digital On Tuesday, Romero was also outraged by the way her and her family’s ordeal was described.

‘I feel like it was a slap in the face. How many gangs is it okay to have in Aurora? How many properties is it okay to take over? How many people, who are citizens who pay their bills, are it okay to displace?

In their apartment, the Romeros had an elaborate system of locks that ran from the top of the door to the bottom before they got fed up and fled.

Romero also had a problem with the way Raddatz framed things, as something that Aurora Mayor Mike Coffman and Gov. Jared Polis haven’t taken seriously enough.

“I feel like the mayor, the governor and the police are downplaying the situation,” he said.

After a shooting at the apartment complex earlier this month, the Romeros’ car was riddled with bullets.

“I was forced out of my apartment by gang activity, people carrying guns in the hallway and patrolling the grounds with guns.”

Romero, who spoke during Donald Trump’s visit to Colorado on Friday, says the media didn’t take her at face value or do their research and left her stranded.

“I’m a taxpayer, I pay my bills, I do what I’m supposed to do,” he added.

In the images that Romero published, the alleged Venezuelan gang took control of an apartment complex in Aurora, Colorado.

In the video that surfaced on Wednesday, the heavily armed mob is seen breaking into the residence brandishing weapons. A man in a hoodie loads a high-powered rifle and pounds on a building door while several others brandish handguns.

The gang members run up the stairs, armed. In the background, the men can be heard talking to each other in Spanish.

At the end of the video, the door opens and all the gang members enter the apartment. It was unclear if anyone inside the home was injured.

The images come as the immigration crisis under ‘border czar’ Kamala Harris has descended into chaos. The Venezuelan mafia Tren de Aragua has established itself throughout the country, including Colorado.

Incidents of migrant-related crime have brought the grim situation at the border under increased scrutiny.

Under the Biden and Harris administration, illegal immigration to the United States has skyrocketed to 8 million crossings.

In 2021, Harris, ‘the border czar’, was accused of slowing the flow of illegal immigration.

‘Operation Aurora’ will target the Aragua Train. Trump delivered the new political goal while standing next to blown-up photos of several of the gang members detained by the Aurora Police Department.

Trump said Friday that Operation Aurora would act as a gang member elimination program by invoking the Alien Enemies Act of 1798 “to target and dismantle all illegal immigrant criminal networks operating on American soil.”

However, it is currently unclear how the plan would differ from current policies that allow the United States to root out violent criminals.

The former president continued to talk about the “immigration crime” enabled by Joe Biden and Kamala Harris’ immigration policies inspired the creation of his campaign plan.
