The altercation took place outside the Allianz Parque stadium where the two teams were playing a match, according to police.
Anelli was near a fan zone where Palmeiras supporters were eating and drinking when Flamengo supporters began throwing rocks and glass bottles at them, said Cesar Saad, a police officer who specializes in sports-related crime.
They beat her and cut her jugular vein, she told YouTube channel Canal do Benja, adding that the Flamengo fan who threw the bottle was arrested and admitted guilt.
In a statement, the Palmeiras club described the attack as an act of “barbarism.”
