A woman has revealed she has been living with a splinter in her eye for the past 10 years and has no plans to have it removed.

Sydney White was at Harry Potter World in California with her family when she felt something go into her eye.

Very soon, the 27-year-old felt a burning sensation in her eyeball and it became swollen.

He admitted that he felt a “shooting pain” in his eye and couldn’t open it.

It took “weeks” for the swelling to subside and Sydney was finally able to spot the small piece of wood in her eye.

And although it sometimes itches, the 27-year-old revealed that she wouldn’t take it off.

He said doctors never told him he needed to remove it, so he kept the splinter lodged in his eye all these years later.

The Idaho-based content creator added that she did not have any negativity towards Harry Potter World despite the unfortunate incident.

She noted that she felt the small piece of wood fly towards her eye while she was with her family.

The 27-year-old recounted the incident in a viral TikTok video, which has so far racked up more than 422,000 views.

‘I was on a day out (and) went on tour with my family. “While he was there, the tour guide pointed out some construction sites,” he said.

‘As I did this and I looked up, I felt a stabbing pain in my left eye that wouldn’t go away. It took a couple of weeks for the pain to subside and the redness to subside, but when I was finally able to look at my eye, I saw it.

“A small piece of wood had fallen into my eyeball.”

Although it is sometimes painful, it was never removed.

She said: ‘If an ophthalmologist had told me to remove it, I would have done it.

“I suppose there could be a risk of infection if it is removed, but there is always the risk of it affecting my vision, if it hasn’t already.”

Even 10 years after the incident, Sydney shared that her eye still hurt.

‘Sometimes it bothers me, it itches. “If I press my eyelid at the site of the splinter, it still hurts, even 10 years later,” he said.

In the clip, the camera zooms in on Sydney’s eye, showing the piece of wood in its entirety.

The piece of wood is on the sclera, which is the white part of the eyeball, but is very close to its iris, which is the colored area that contains the pupil.

She captioned the video: “Hey your eyes are a little woody.”

People online were stunned by her confession as they flocked to the comments section and expressed their shock.

One person joked: “Girl, that’s your wand.”

Someone else wrote: ‘Ok, are you going to tell us why you still have it there?’
