A 34-year-old woman and a three-year-old boy are killed when an articulated truck crashes into their Ford Focus after it broke down in a live lane of a dual carriageway
A woman and a child were killed in a fatal accident in which an articulated truck crashed into their disabled Ford Focus.
Emergency services were called to the A180 last night following a road accident which claimed the lives of a three-year-old boy and a 34-year-old woman.
Witnesses claim the car was ‘stranded’, and a woman had to ‘swipe’ after the car broke down between Stallingborough and Brocklesby, Lincolnshire, according to grimsbylive.
Then, at around 9:06 p.m., a white articulated truck traveling westbound slammed into the stationary blue Ford Focus that was believed to have stopped on a live line.
Police have now launched an appeal for more information, asking for witnesses and anyone with dash cam footage to come forward.

In a statement, Humberside Police said: “A white articulated lorry was traveling westbound on the A180, Immingham, between Stallingborough and Brocklesby, last night at around 9.06pm when it collided with a stationary blue Ford Focus which thinks it broke down in an active lane.” .
“Unfortunately, a 34-year-old woman and a 3-year-old boy who were traveling in the Ford Focus suffered fatal injuries as a result of the collision and died at the scene.
Their families have been informed and are currently being supported by trained officers and partner agencies at this incredibly difficult time.
“We are calling on anyone who may have dash cam footage or witnessed the collision to contact us on our non-emergency number 101 quoting log 557 from March 10.”
While the highways were temporarily closed after the accident, National Highways confirmed that they have since reopened.
At around 10am today, he tweeted: “#A180 #Lincolnshire is now open in both directions between #A160 #SouthKillingholme and #A1173 #Stallingborough following earlier collision.”
