A woman was tragically killed when a freight train collided with her car at a railroad crossing.
Laurelle Boccalatte, 55, drove at the junction when a Pacific National freight train crashed on the driver's side door on Thursday.
The police appealed to witness and dash imagery after the collision, in Fredericksfield, south of Townsville in northern Queensland at 10.30 am.

Mrs. Boccalatte died on the spot, despite desperate attempts by emergency services to revive her.
No one else was injured in the crash.
The heartbroken friends said that Ms. Boccalatte had met old classmates from the Burdekin Catholic High School last night to organize a 40th reunion bash for 2019.
Jeanette Garvey described her former classmate as a devoted and loyal friend with a very friendly nature.
We're all just startled … especially so close to Christmas, & # 39; Garvey said to the Townsville Bulletin.
Laurelle was always up to date, she had a list and still sent Christmas cards when everyone had given up the others. & # 39;
The older father of Boccalatte understood that he was recovering from an operation in the hospital at the time of the crash, according to the publication.

She was closely involved in the close community in the nearby town of Home Hill.

Ayr Police Sergeant Craig Hosie told the Bulletin that the fatal crash was a timely warning for motorists to treat every level crossing as if a train was approaching.

Rail transport was immediately suspended after the incident.
The railway has reopened since then.
"Our thoughts are with the lady's family and the people involved in this terrible incident," said Queensland Rail's spokeswoman to Daily Mail Australia.
