Woman, 55, is found BEHEADED on a Minnesota sidewalk

A woman was beheaded on a sidewalk in Minnesota set up by police who responded Wednesday to calls of a stabbing incident.

America Mafalda Thayer, 55, was found around 2:31 p.m. Wednesday with stab wounds at the intersection of Fourth Avenue and Spencer Street in Shakopee, Shakopee police said in a press release.

Police discovered Thayer’s body next to a car – with her head close, according to a search warrant obtained by KMSP.

Alexis Saborit, 42, who reportedly had a difficult relationship with Thayer, was arrested in connection with her murder. He is being held in the Scott County Jail while a second-degree murder charge is pending, according to the inmate list.

Police scanner traffic revealed that Saborit allegedly dropped a knife as he fled, MN Crime reported.

Saborit was spotted by police walking near Shenandoah Drive and 4th Avenue, where police arrested him around 3:20 p.m. without incident, the outlet reported.

Police later reportedly found the scabbard for a large knife in a nearby yard and the knife in a trash can in a nearby alley, KMSP reported.

Thayer reportedly worked at Dollar Tree and MyPillow, her colleagues told KMSP.

Her colleagues said she was in a long-term relationship with Saborit and claimed that domestic violence had been a “consistent problem” with the couple.

In 2017, Saborit was convicted of domestic violence in Carver County, WCCO noted.

The crime scene has been processed by the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, police said.

“The department also wishes to extend its condolences to the victim’s family,” the police said.

Neighbors told KMSP they were stunned by the daytime beheading.

‘I have no words for it. Just scary. I just feel sorry for the families,” neighbor Jessica Sondrol said.

The shocking beheading happened after another woman was found decapitated Monday in her burning Indiana apartment.

Police later reportedly found her head in a suitcase and “human fingers” — such as fingers and toes — in a plastic container at the home of suspect Brian Williams, according to a probable cause statement obtained by WDRB.

Williams, 36, has been charged with murder, arson and theft in connection with the death of 67-year-old Melody Gambetty.

Police said they do not believe Williams knew of Gambetty and that the murder may have been the result of an attempted burglary or a home invasion, WDRB reported.

Williams was ordered to be held without bail on Wednesday during his first hearing in the Clark County Circuit Court, during which a not-guilty plea was made on his behalf.
