According to Mindy, who has amassed more than 265,000 subscribers to her YouTube account, she posted videos for an entire year before introducing Larry to her channel — and immediately noticed a slew of negative comments, which she “wasn’t prepared for.” ‘ in front of.

‘I was filming videos’ [of myself] and people asked who I was talking to behind the camera,” she explained to Really recently.

“I was on YouTube for a whole year before introducing Larry, but when everyone started asking, I shared.

“A lot of people were very positive, but we also got a lot of hate and reactions because of the age difference, which was a bit of a shock.

“I wasn’t ready, I wasn’t ready. Now, of course, I’ve developed a thick skin and I’m doing well, but it’s been a journey.’

And since announcing last year that they were getting ready to welcome a child together, the hatred has only gotten worse.

“I think social media is becoming a less accepted place,” the mother-to-be continues.

“Since the announcement that we are pregnant, a new wave of hatred has arisen, with… [people saying] how selfish the decision is.

“The funny thing about the hate comments and the mean comments is that we’ve never seen anyone walk up to us and say this to our faces in person.

“They’re just keyboard warriors. They wouldn’t tell us to our face, but they have no problem typing it.’

Though Mindy admitted there are some positive aspects to social media — like connecting with others — she called it a “cruel and judgmental place.”

“You can find common ground with other people and not feel so alone and that’s the beauty of social media,” she explains.

“But the negative is, it’s brutal – it can be a very unforgiving and judgmental place, which is hard to deal with. If I could say one thing to our haters online, it would be to be nice.”

Despite all the negative reactions they’ve received, the couple tries to focus on the fun reactions.

‘To see the outpouring’ [of support] what we’re getting is kind of amazing in my opinion,” Larry told the outlet.

“It’s a very humbling experience to have so many people leaving such nice comments for us and wishing us the best.

“The people who respond and say, ‘I really enjoyed your videos’ or, ‘I’m having a hard time and you guys helped me through it’ or, ‘I had exams and was stressed and you helped my stress,’ that’s why I we what we do.’
