A 28-year-old woman found dead on the floor of her Brooklyn apartment was viciously beaten, and police are questioning her roommate to determine his role in her death.
Troopers dispatched to victim Kelly Kwak’s first-floor apartment on Gates Ave. near Classon Ave. in Clinton Hill at 9:40 a.m. Friday found the woman dead on the living room floor with bruises all over. the body, police said.
Responding officers also found Kwak’s roommate, 32, in the apartment, police said.
Kwak died at the scene. EMS took the roommate, who may be mentally ill, to Woodhull Hospital for treatment, authorities said.
Cops were asked to visit the apartment after an out-of-state relative of Kwak called police claiming he hadn’t heard from her in several days. It was not immediately disclosed how long Kwak had been dead before police found her.
An autopsy by the city’s medical examiner on Monday revealed that Kwak died of blunt force trauma to the body. His death was ruled a homicide.
No charges have been filed against the roommate as detectives try to determine his role in Kwak’s death, an NYPD spokesman said.
