A woman has appeared before a judge accused of murdering a newborn baby boy.
24-year-old Shauna Donnelly appeared briefly in Teesside Court on October 3, charged with the murder of Ellis Donnelly on October 3 last year.
Police attended Donnelly’s house in Wordsworth Road, Teesville, Middlesbrough, North Yorks, where she was arrested.
A Cleveland police spokesman said at the time, “It is still under investigation how a newborn baby died.

“A post-mortem investigation has been conducted, but the cause of death is still unknown, and further tests are needed to determine the cause of his death.”
After a five-minute hearing, Judge Helen Cousins told Donnelly, “I am now sending this case to Teesside Crown Court, where it will be heard later today. I’ll send you into custody until that hearing. ‘
The case continues at 11:00 am in another room in the same courthouse via a video link for a Crown Judge.
