Wolves made a double signing just before Friday’s transfer deadline to give Gary O’Neil a big boost after a difficult start to the season.

Wolves have lost their opening two league games of the campaign against Arsenal and Chelsea, conceding eight goals in the process, and O’Neil was keen to add to his squad before the transfer window closed.

His wish was granted when Wolves secured deals for Brazilian midfielder André from Fluminense and Carlos Forbs from Ajax just in time.

Andre arrives on a permanent deal worth around £20m, while Portuguese winger Forbs has signed on a season-long loan.

André was linked with a move to Liverpool last year but ended up staying in his native Brazil.

He has now secured a move to the Premier League with Wolves alongside Forbs.

Earlier on deadline day, Wolves completed the £10million signing of Sam Johnstone from Crystal Palace.

The England goalkeeper lost his No. 1 spot to Dean Henderson at Palace but will now provide competition for Jose Sa at Molineux.

There was also a late exit for Wolves on the final day of the transfer window as Chiquinho joined LaLiga side Real Mallorca on loan for the remainder of the season.

The 24-year-old has made just 11 appearances for Wolves in the last two years and has now moved to Spain to gain more first-team experience.
