Of the four WNBA playoff games held on Sunday, the matchup between the Minnesota Lynx and Phoenix Mercury proved to be the closest of all. While each of the other three games ended with at least an 11-point difference between winner and loser, the Lynx beat the Mercury 102-95, with each team controlling two quarters of the game. The Lynx will look to keep that winning mentality when they host the Mercury again for Game 2 of the playoff series at Target Center in Minneapolis, which will air on ESPN at 9:30 p.m. ET. The first round of the WNBA playoffs began on Sunday, September 22. The playoffs are scheduled to run through October 18 if necessary.

There are eight teams confirmed for the 2024 WBNA playoffs, they are:

The WNBA playoffs feature an eight-team bracket; qualifying teams are decided based on their regular-season record. During the first round, games are played in a best-of-three series. The semifinal and final games are played in a best-of-five series.
