Witness: Ukrainians mourn the body of an American soldier who was killed in the fierce battles in Bakhmut
Dozens of Ukrainian soldiers participated in the burial ceremony of the American soldier Christopher James Campbell, who was killed during the fierce battles between the Russian and Ukrainian armies in Bakhmut.
Campbell’s Ukrainian wife, Ivana Snina, attended the burial. Campbell, 27, volunteered to fight against Russian forces.
Bakhmut is considered the key for the Russian army to advance towards Sloviansk and Kramatorsk, the largest city in the Donetsk region, which Russian President Vladimir Putin announced to annex to Russian territory along with 3 other regions of Ukraine last September.
