Abdullahian had started his visit to Lebanon on Tuesday evening before completing his tour in the region and flying to Syria on Friday.

Today, Friday, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian visited the village of Maroun al-Ras on the Lebanese-Israeli border. Abdullahian, who arrived in Beirut on Wednesday, met Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah.

Upon his arrival at Beirut airport, he said: “We support the resistance in confronting the Zionist enemy.”

During his meeting with the Lebanese Foreign Minister Abdullah Bouhabib, Abdallahian urged the Lebanese political parties to expedite the completion of the electoral process in light of the failure to elect a Lebanese president several months ago.

Abdullahian also confirmed that he discussed with his Lebanese counterpart ways of “comprehensive cooperation between Iran and Lebanon” and Iran’s readiness to “further strengthen relations in economy, trade, tourism, science, technology and other fields.”

He also met, in Beirut, the Secretary-General of the Islamic Jihad Movement in Palestine, Ziad al-Nakhala, and representatives from the Lebanese Parliament.
