Syrian President Bashar al-Assad will attend, for the first time since 2010, the Arab Summit to be held in Saudi Arabia on Friday.
On Wednesday, Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah discussed with Syrian Foreign Minister Faisal Al-Miqdad the situation in Syria and the region.
The official Saudi Press Agency (SPA) stated that the two ministers met in Jeddah on the sidelines of the preparatory ministerial meeting of the Arab League Council at the summit level in its thirty-second session.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed developments in the Syrian arena and the region, and exchanged views on issues of common interest, and those on the agenda of the preparatory ministerial meeting of the Arab League Council at the summit level in its thirty-second session.

And the Syrian presidency announced in a statement that President Bashar al-Assad will travel today, Thursday, to the Saudi city of Jeddah to attend the Arab summit, which will be held tomorrow, Friday.
Saudi Arabia invited the Syrian president to attend the summit after the Arab countries agreed to restore Syria’s full membership in the Arab League after 12 years of suspension due to Assad’s suppression of anti-protests.
