Wimbledon men's final live updates: Novak Djokovic, Carlos Alcaraz clash in rematch of epic 2023 final

Could the script have been written any better? Closing out the men’s draw at Wimbledon were Carlos Alcaraz and Novak Djokovic for the second year in a row. Last season, Alcaraz beat Djokovic in a five-set thriller to claim his first title at the All-England Club, and this year he reaches the final in London seeking a Roland Garros-Wimbledon double. In the past 44 years, that feat has only been achieved by Djokovic, Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal in the men’s draw.

On the other hand, Djokovic is looking to make history. A win would mean his 25th career Grand Slam title, breaking a tie with Margaret Court for the most Grand Slam singles titles by any player. This is his first major final since reaching 24 with a victory at the 2023 US Open.

There is a lot at stake as the future and past at the top of men’s tennis face off in what should be another epic match. Djokovic leads the all-time series 3-2, having won the last two matches on hard courts. Their only previous meeting on grass was Alcaraz’s victory in last year’s Wimbledon final.
