William Friedkin dies at 87: Exorcist and French Connection director passes away in Los Angeles, wife confirms
William Friedkin passed away Monday morning in Los Angeles at the age of 87.
The news was shared by his wife, Sherry Lansing, who was a film producer and studio head who now works with charities.
He The Oscar winner had directed the blockbuster movies The French Connection and The Exorcist.
William had also worked in Sorcerer from 1977, To Live and Die in LA from 1985 and Bug from 2006.
