The price in particular catches the eye. You wouldn’t expect a price tag in the $500 region for a smartphone with these features. Exactly how much Google calls up in this country remains to be seen, but one thing can be said with relative certainty: It won’t be 800 or even 1,000 euros.
Even if the Pixel 7a is priced higher than it has been in years past, it could keep its reputation as a value-for-money pick.
For comparison: The Pixel 7a could even compete with a Samsung Galaxy S23 with the above specs – apart from the display resolution – and even trump it in terms of battery capacity. For the S23, however, you currently have to dig much deeper into your pocket.
Release may be imminent
We won’t have to wait much longer until we get clarity as to whether the leaked information is correct. Because the presentation and possibly even market launch of the Pixel 7a is already expected at the Google in-house exhibition I/O, which starts on May 10, 2023.
