Will Ferrell has spoken out about how he played a role in the infamous OJ Simpson trial, as he appears on the Graham Norton Show this week.
The actor, 57, appeared on the chat show with his cordially invited co-star Reese Witherspoon, who also opened up about her courtroom experience.
Revealing the ‘strangest gig’ he’s ever had, Will revealed he was asked to perform for jurors in the OJ Simpson trial because they were held hostage for so long.
He recalled: ‘I was doing improv at the Groundlings Theater in Los Angeles at the same time the OJ Simpson trial was happening.
‘The jury was sequestered for a long time and couldn’t get anywhere, so someone came up with the idea of performing our sketch show for them on the court to lighten the mood. It was just us and the jurors.
“They seemed a little entertained, but it was very strange.”

Reece, recalling his own jury service, revealed “About seven years after Legally Blonde came out, I got called in to do a solid two weeks.”
Reece plays Elle Woods, a sorority girl trying to win back her ex-boyfriend Warner Huntington III by earning a Juris Doctor degree from Harvard Law School.
She continued: ‘When we went to deliberation and it came to choosing a foreman, the entire jury chose me. When I asked them why, they said it was because I went to law school!
The actors were on the show to discuss their new Screw Wedding comedy and revealed when they first worked together more than 20 years ago.
Reece said: ‘We met on Saturday Night Live in 2001 and 22 years later, we came up with an idea! I actually said yes to the movie and working with Will before I knew what the plot was, I just wanted to do it.’
Will says, “I had the best time, and it would be a dream to work together again.”
Reese discussed the impact her secretive club has had after gaining a reputation for boosting the careers of female writers.
She said: ‘In 2013 I read a truly terrible script that was so negative for women, and I thought I could do better.

‘I put my money into a company and the first three books I bought were Gone Girl, Wild and Big Little Lies. I choose one book a month and turn some into shows.
‘What I had not understood is how presenting a book can change the author’s life in terms of economics. It is the significant and unexpected part of starting the company.
Speaking about his critically acclaimed documentary, Will & Harper, he said: ‘The reaction has been amazing, we really didn’t know what we were getting. It has been a remarkable moment for Harper.
“She was so brave to tell her story, and she has become a centerpiece in continuing to fight for trans rights around the world and especially in the United States right now.”
