Breaking made its long-awaited debut on the world stage at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
As dozens of talented b-boys and b-girls battled it out for medals, many spectators were left captivated – and confused – by the performance of Australian Raygun.
The 36-year-old college professor went viral after writhing awkwardly on the dance floor and jumping like a kangaroo while displaying a much lower level of skill than her competitors, earning zero points.
This led fans to wonder if the controversial sport will make a comeback when the Summer Olympics take place in Los Angeles in 2028.
It was previously confirmed that breaking is not on the list of sports that will be present at the next Games.

While she could return when the Olympics head to Raygun’s home country of Australia for Brisbane 2032, leaders say that is unlikely.
“It was a miracle that we were in Paris to begin with,” said Zack Slusser, vice president of Breaking for Gold USA and USA Dance. he said according to NBC.
“The amount of exposure to the right people who can create real change in our community, on our platform and help it grow, will be important for us. It will allow us, for the first time, to find sustainability and help us elevate our platform,” Slusser continued.
“It would be fantastic to see breaking back in the Olympics. But at the same time, it will be a real challenge for the community and to take advantage of this opportunity internally.”
When California hosts the next Olympic Games, six new sports will be added to the schedule: cricket, flag football, baseball, softball, lacrosse and squash.
While this is the first time flag football and squash will be played at the Olympics, cricket and lacrosse will be back in the competition for the first time in more than 100 years.
Baseball and softball also used to appear at the Games, but were removed in 2008.
This comes amid widespread debate surrounding Raygun (real name Rachael Gunn) and her now-viral performance in Paris.

Even Adele cancelled her concert in Munich over the weekend to… reveal ‘it’s all my friends and I have been talking about’.
“I’m not saying anything, but I think it’s the best thing that’s ever happened at the Olympics,” Adele told her fans, noting that she wasn’t sure if Raygun was a serious contender.
“I can’t figure out if it was a joke, but either way it made me very, very happy and my friends and I were dying of laughter for almost 24 hours,” she continued.

Raygun has kept a relatively low profile following his performance, but made a statement on social media amid the barrage of comments.
“What I wanted to do was come here and do something new, different and creative – that’s my strength, my creativity,” he said.
‘I was never going to beat these girls at what they do best, dynamics and power moves, so I wanted to move differently, be artistic and creative because how many opportunities do you get in life to do that on an international stage?
“I was always the underdog and I wanted to make my mark in a different way.”
