Deontay Wilder, Dillian Whyte and Tyson Fury: if you think you can beat Anthony Joshua, come get him
- Eddie Hearn's message to Deontay Wilder, Tyson Fury and Dillian Whyte is simple: if you think you can beat Anthony Joshua, come and get it
- Within the next 10 days a decision will be made about the next opponent of Joshua
- The Wilder team did not respond to the last five or six e-mails from promoter Hearn
- If it were up to Joshua, he would want to fight Wilder in Wembley in April
Eddie Hearn for the Daily Mail
I have had many people who asked for an update on Anthony Joshua and as always there is a lot of work behind the scenes. It is important at this point that everyone realizes that there is a big difference between hunters who want to see Anthony Joshua and hunters who simply want them to.
We have made deals on the major heavyweights and we will make more offers in the coming days with a view to finalizing a decision in the next 10 days on Joshua's next fight.
Deontay Wilder, Tyson Fury and Dillian Whyte all have the opportunity to go to Wembley in April and fight for the four world titles of Joshua … If you think you can beat him, our message is simple: come pick up. Who really wants it? This is your chance.
Anthony Joshua's preference goes to the fight against Deontay Wilder at the Wembley Stadium in April
Tyson Fury is also on the list, while the Wilder team is not responding to Eddie Hearn's emails
To repeat myself, if it were up to AJ, he would want Wilder. He wants to be undisputed champion, we all know that.
But the difficulty and frustration is that I have now read five or six unanswered emails on their part in three weeks or so. Wilderder bluffs the audience when he says he wants this fight?
If he really wants it, it's there and he knows it's because we told them. If he does not want it, he can have his rematch at Tyson Fury or play against Dominic Breazeale and good luck to him. But if he has ambitions to become undisputed champion, like Joshua, the chance is now.
The fight with Tyson Fury is clearly something that Joshua would love. I have spoken with Fury and it is a fight that we would like. He knows that. Fury has proven that everyone is wrong and deserves a lot of respect. It would be a huge battle and opportunity and we could make it before April.
Dillian Whyte (R) is also on the list, but recently he poured cold water in reports about a resit
Joshua (left) also wants to fight against Whyte, after he came under the skin after the Dereck Chisora competition
Also, Whyte knows that he has the chance. Joshua wants to fight him – he always does. I think Whyte got a little under his skin after the fight with Dereck Chisora and it's not that they needed more needle between them.
Many people have said that Whyte is a favorite to get the fight, but at the moment it is hard to say. Offers have arrived and he has talked a bit about what he thinks of the offer. We have not made an official offer to Jarrell Miller, but he is also an option.
When the time comes to bring AJ to the US and increase its presence there, fighting for a New Yorker in Madison Square Garden would work for us.
All I can say is that when people, and I am talking about all fighters here, say they get low-ball offers or whatever, you must remember that you are also offered the opportunity to fight for the world titles.
If Wilder thinks he can beat AJ at Wembley, the message from Matchroom is simple: get it
Joshua (right) has not fought since Alexander Povetkin was defeated in Wembley in September
It is not just the money. And then – it is not as if they are being offered bad money. But on top of the money they have the chance to defeat Anthony Joshua.
Joshua fought for relative peanuts when he took Charles Martin for the world title. It was about the possibility and we value that opportunity. I'm not saying we're offering peanuts because we are not.
But we offer the possibility for a hunter to become one of the biggest stars in world sport. If you think you can handle it, if you think you can disable Anthony Joshua, come and try it.
