NFL fans are stunned as the Super Bowl logo conspiracy theory returns despite being debunked last year.
The theory first arose in Super Bowls 56 (Rams vs. Bengals) and 57 (Eagles vs. Chiefs) when fans noticed that the logos of the big games featured the team colors of the participating clubs.
In 2024, the theory was disproven when the Baltimore Ravens failed to qualify for the big game, which included the Chiefs and 49ers.
Despite last year’s huge flop, fans continue to subscribe to the theory as the Super Bowl heads to New Orleans in February. This year’s logo features the Chiefs’ red, the Ravens’ purple, and a darker interpretation of the Eagles’ midnight green.
As the divisional playoffs unfolded this weekend, fans took to social media with varying reactions to the theory.
One user wrote “looks like we’ll have a rematch between the Eagles and Chiefs.”
