A Tennessee man is suing his baby’s mother after claiming she tricked him into believing a baby girl was his and forced him to pay child support.

Brett Fairley, 27, from Nashville, Tennessee, posted a TikTok now viral where he explained that the woman, whom he called María Nguyen, supposedly asked him to get her pregnant because she wanted a child and “had been unlucky in love.”

Nguyen, whom he met in his Mississippi hometown, told him he “wouldn’t have to take any responsibility” and could basically be a sperm donor, he said.

“At first I thought, ‘No,’ but after a while of thinking about it, I thought it would be the right thing to do for someone who is struggling,” he said in the video.

The couple signed an “ironclad agreement,” according to the 27-year-old. After she successfully became pregnant through sexual intercourse, he returned to California, but his family stayed in contact with the expectant mother and encouraged him to be in their daughter’s life.

Before his daughter’s birth, he got a tattoo of her middle name, “love,” and flew home to be there when she arrived, he said.

After the birth, he said Nguyen wanted to be a family and showed text messages between the couple, where she allegedly said: ‘Do I want to try to make this work and be a family?’ Can we do that? I want to be with you, Brett.

He replied, “I’m sorry, but that’s not what I want to do.”

“That hurts,” she replied.

She later approached him because she needed a place to stay for two months while she worked on getting her own place, and he allowed her to live in his Airbnb for “several months rent-free.”

Fairley, who flips houses for a living, came home frequently to visit his daughter and was posted several times on Nguyen’s Facebook page, as he showed in the video.

Things took a turn after Fairley refused to wear matching Halloween costumes one year and she “didn’t let me see my daughter for a while,” he claimed in the video.

The distraught father had many arguments with his baby mother, who did not let him see his daughter at various times, such as when she did not want to wear matching Halloween costumes and when he got a girlfriend.

She eventually moved to Nashville and at one point drove 14 hours round trip to attend her daughter’s baptism, but Nguyen wouldn’t let her attend because he refused to see her the night before.

After that, she filed for child support, forcing him to pay $10,000 up front and $750 a month afterward.

This allowed her to start seeing her daughter regularly, but things changed once again once Fairley got a girlfriend, even though she herself had a boyfriend, she claimed.

“When I offered Maria and my girlfriend to meet so they would feel comfortable with my daughter around, she immediately said no and called my girlfriend a word that rhymes with homework,” he stated in the video.

Nguyen had wanted to be a family, as demonstrated in the text messages. He claims she should have known she was pregnant before asking him to get her pregnant.

Nguyen then made a ‘public post’ calling Fairley a ‘lazy father,’ claiming he hadn’t seen his daughter in weeks, even though he claims he had his daughter days earlier.

He also reportedly refused to allow the father to spend Father’s Day with his daughter.

After all the hassle, Fairley recently discovered that his daughter is not his, he claimed, showing a paternity report that claims the girl has a “zero percent” relationship with him.

‘I don’t know who the father is, but they have done two paternity tests on me and both say (I am not the father),’ he stated in the five-minute video. ‘I believed María when she said that I was the only possible father. The situation was strange, but I was always happy to be a dad.’

He claimed the woman already knew she was pregnant when she reached the agreement with Fairley and that the distraught father “didn’t think anyone was going to lie about this.”

He captioned the video: “See you in court, Maria.”

He also published a video where the alleged María showed the mother crying, claiming that the data collected from her paternity test was taken on August 10, 2024 and that she had it. He then showed a video from his phone of his daughter playing on August 10.

DailyMail.com has contacted Fairley for comment. Nguyen appears to have deleted his social media pages.
