Is Victor Osimhen a candidate for Bayern Munich or not? After it was said recently that the ex-Wolfsburg player did not want to return to the Bundesliga, a TV broadcaster made it clear: the star striker from SSC Naples wants to switch to the German record champions.
The specialist magazine “kicker” only reported on Monday that Victor Osimhen was not interested in returning to the Bundesliga. From 2017 to 2018, the 24-year-old was under contract with VfL Wolfsburg for a year and a half – and failed to score in 14 league appearances. His VfL coach at the time, Martin Schmidt, also stated: “Even then, the Premier League was his big goal.”
According to the TV channel “Sky”, however, the star striker of SSC Napoli is very much considering attacking again in Germany.
Will Osimhen move to Bayern? “He’s in the mood for Munich”
“He wants and would switch to Bayern Munich immediately,” said transfer expert Florian Plettenberg on “Transfer Update – the show”: “He’s in the mood for Munich. He was already in the Bundesliga, didn’t ignite at Wolfsburg, but the Signs have changed.”
Among other things, the new coach of FC Bayern could play a role, explained Plettenberg: “Thomas Tuchel is really excited about him.” And added: “This is a striker that the coach can definitely imagine in his squad for the coming season.”
According to information from the TV station, there is an exchange between FC Bayern and Osimhen’s management. Further talks are “planned” and “will follow,” it said. However, the Munich team does not want to pay the package of over 100 million euros that Napoli is supposed to call for an Osimhen transfer.
Will Osimhen come to Bayern via a barter deal?
In this context, Plettenberg brought up a possible barter deal with Napoli. “Is there an exchange? Maybe. It’s still very, very early,” said the TV reporter, who stated: “Osimhen definitely remains a hot candidate for Bayern.”
Meanwhile, Plettenberg left open which Bayern player would be a candidate for an exchange with the designated champion of Serie A. Among the attackers who are in the current squad of the German record champions, Sadio Mané would be an option at most.
The Senegalese superstar, who moved from Liverpool FC to Säbener Straße last summer for 32 million euros plus a maximum of nine million euros in bonus payments, is considered a possible change candidate after the physical altercation with team-mate Leroy Sané.
