A woman has been charged after she allegedly chased her ex-husband’s new girlfriend before crashing her car in a wild late-night chase.
Police allege a 37-year-old woman driving a black Mercedes SUV was followed by another 31-year-old woman in a black sedan in Sydney’s southwest on Monday night.
The driver of the Mercedes SUV stopped in Campsie to check a text message.
Her boyfriend’s ex-wife, Rachel Liu, allegedly approached the vehicle, tried to get inside and then banged on the window.
The girlfriend drove off and was allegedly followed by Lui for 4km and rear-ended the Mercedes several times on Hamilton Avenue in Earlwood.

Liu’s sedan then mounted a traffic island and crashed into a sign in a median.
She was seen climbing out of the rubble and being assisted by concerned residents who heard the commotion.
“Luckily it wasn’t earlier because someone could have died,” said a neighbor. 9 news.
The driver of the Mercedes was uninjured and went to the Kogarah police station a short time later to report the alleged incident.
Locals claimed that Liu’s estranged husband later came to the scene.

Liu was treated by paramedics at the scene and taken to St George’s Hospital for evaluation.
She was later arrested and charged with predatory driving and stalking/intimidating with intent to fear physical harm (domestic).
Liu was refused bail to appear at Sutherland Local Court on Wednesday.
It is understood the couple were married for eight years but recently filed for divorce.
